Warming Up during the Chili Supper at the VFW

About 40 people came in and warmed up at the Chili Supper sponsored by PFSP and held at the VFW on Saturday, Dec. 14th.  We had 6 or 7 different kinds of chili for our supporters to taste test and eat.  Homemade cornbread and cake were also available.  A $150 Wilderness Gift Pack was awarded to Margaret Rudolph who won the fill in the square contest.   Margaret Rudolph, Business Administrator from the Portage Public Schools came to show support, she has been very supportive of the project since the beginning and was a great advocate in encouraging the Kiwanis to support the project.20131214_190739

Some people who came for the $5.00 meal deal gave additional funds directly to Rita owner of Prairie Flower Beads and member of the local Kiwanis club. The Mayor stopped in and several Veterans also came to show support for the Skate Park. We have some really good cooks on our committee and in our volunteers!  Thank you to everyone who donated time, talent, food and skill in decorating, setting up, serving, and just plain visiting and welcoming our guests.

We wish everyone a very Happy, Healthy and Prosperous Holiday Season and New Year!

ps:  We’re having a Chicken Soup ‘n Salad Lunch and Dinner on February 18th.  Mark your calendar now and watch for details!
