Movie in the park PFSP

On June 16th The Portage Park And Rec held a Movie in the park at Sunset Park in Portage. The Park and Rec invited the Portage Family Skate park to fundraise for our future editions to the skatepark by serving Brats, Hotdogs, soda, and as a sepcial treat we even rustled up a popcorn machine to have fresh Popcorn for the throng of movie goers.
It was a beautiful afternoon in a park which seems perfectly suited for an afternoon movie. A beautiful view of the sunset over the Wisconsin river, coupled with plenty of playground space for the kids to explore while their parents stake out the best spots to watch the movie, it all ads up to a fun and relaxed family evening. Bob Viking even kept the entertainment level even higher with games to play before the Movie.
This years film was β€œMinions” A funny film for all ages, and began promptly at dusk, when the screen was visible enough to be seen by the audience.
The PFSP had a blast supplying consessions and meeting so many great people and seeing all those smiling children. By the time the movie started we had nearly sold out of everything, and raising a total of $263 for future additions to the skatepark.
We are extremely thankful to the Portage Park and Rec for inviting us to fundraise at this event, and for their support and encouragement. We sicerely hope these events continue to grow in the future. Also a special thanks to Jared Pierson for the Popcorn machine and to a favorite PFSP minion Kevin Malone for donating the Popcorn.
