Tats 4 Tots 2019 Recap

Wkow 27 Reports on Tats 4 Tots

MADISON (WKOW) — Friday was one of the biggests Toys for Tots collection events in our area.

This was the 17th year for ‘Tats 4 Tots.’

Anyone who brought a toy to Ultimate Arts Tattoo in Madison got an envelope filled with goodies, including a tattoo voucher ranging from $50 to $200.

Last year, around 14,000 toys were donated at the event.

Friday’s weather made it easy for the people standing in line, but it hasn’t always been like that.

“It’s been sleeting, it’s been 10 degrees, but there’s been people waiting outside for an hour,” said owner Michael “Stripe” Spangler. “We’ve been able to speed it up much faster, it’s much less time than that now, but it can definitely be a very, very long wait in a cold area for people who are totally willing to do that just to get more tattoos.”

People had a chance to double their tattoo voucher or win even more prizes by spinning a prize wheel after making their donation.
