Danny’s Birthday Wish

My son Danny turned 13 on August 4th. I had a huge party planned, was about to send out the invites and all. I asked Danny his advice on a few details of his birthday, and when I told him about my plans he popped my bubble lol. He said Mom all I want for my birthday is to be able to go to portage and skate with my friends, and as for my birthday gift I really want a skateboard that says portage skate park on it. I said to Danny where in the world am I going to be able to get a skateboard with portage skatepark on it? Apparently he had it all figured out. He took me to a website www.portageskatepark.com and there he showed me a pic of someone holding one of those boards. I read thru the web page and seen that you could purchase the skateboard at the Tuesday meetings. Knowing it wasn’t possible for me to get to portage on a Tuesday. I sent an email to Kyle explaining the situation about my sons birthday wish. And Kyle made sure it came true. He met us in the dells after work right before my sons birthday. And handed Danny the only thing he wanted. The portage skatepark skateboard!!

As soon as Danny had possession of the board he called me from the ride home and screamed as loud as he could in my ear, MOM I LOVE YOU!!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!! I LOVE MY NEW BOARD!!!!!  I remember when we lived in portage my sons dream was to see to it that portage got a skate park. He hung out at the skate shop nearly everyday. He talked to so many people about helping sponsor a skatepark. Even said he was going to start a petition. Now he never got that far because we moved from portage, but Kyle apparently had that same dream! So Danny is as happy as can be and wants to be one of the first kids to skate at the new portage skate park!!!  Happy birthday Danny!!  And thank you Kyle Little!!
