Say “Grande Cheese” and Smile!
Say “Grande Cheese” and Smile!
It’s people like Mary Ann and Forrest at Grande Cheese in Wyocena who make building a better future in Portage, Wisconsin a matter of the heart! President Kyle Little, and board members Andrew Tamminga and Jared Pierson were presented with a generous $1,300 check, on February 24, 2016, for the Portage Family Skate Park construction beginning in the spring of 2016. “Say ‘cheese,’” Mary Ann exclaimed before snapping the picture, generating a small chuckle inside our hearts, and leaving smiles on our faces.
The generosity is more than enough to “keep the Skate Park committee moving full steam ahead.” But its the joy, excitement, and anticipation that Mary Ann shared that touches our hearts! “We love what you guys are doing,” explained Mary Ann.
One of the things we’ve learned at the Portage Family Skate Park is “It’s not serving that changes the world, it’s the heart with which you serve that changes the world.” Thanks to people just like Mary Ann, there is a ton of heart in this project. All over Portage and surrounding areas, people are sending ‘heart’ our way, supporting the cause, and innovating new ways of raising support. Thank you, Grande Cheese, for having the vision and heart for building a better future.
