Portage Holiday parade 2015
The strong line up of lighted floats at the Portage Holiday parade 2015 built up a sense of community pride. Lining West Conant Street in Portage, WI, children yelled “There’s still more!” Due to community efforts like this, Portage has identity, producing volunteerism and the general benefit of bringing people together. Portage is experiencing “good cheer” and we love it!
The parade began at Pauquete Park with the Portage High School Marching Band announcing its presence and ended at Market Square in Downtown Portage with the lighting of the Christmas Tree by Ol’ Saint Nic. Spectators experienced a total of 28 fantastic exhibitors.
Following 9th in line, the Portage Family Skate Park, laid claim to a popular cultural icon. “The Grinch has a Change of Heart” was designed and beautifully hand-crafted by PFSP Art Director Andrew Taminga, and sponsored by Walsh’s Ace Hardware, Who’s Yer Painter, and DC Builders. President Kyle Little dedicated time to promoting the parade behind the scenes and help build the PFSP float. Featuring a wooden sleigh, a giant lighted bag of presents, and the Grinch himself, spectators smiled and pointed at the infamous character, brought to life on the streets of Portage.
It’s easy to see why people love Portage. We are building good cheer in Portage, WI, one event after another.
