Let’s Go Fly a Kite… in Honduras!

Let’s Go Fly a Kite… in Honduras!

It’s amazing what can happen when the community comes together.  On Saturday, April 16, the Portage Family Skate Park hosted “Go Fly a Kite” at Pine Meadows Park off of Hamilton Street on the East side of Portage.  Pine Meadows Park has a beautiful view of some the Portage flatland’s, a big open field, and therefore, a great atmosphere for kite flying. The PFSP hosted at Pine Meadows to draw attention to this park and to promote outdoor activity with the community of Portage. The results were surprisingly big. A neighbor, Barb Wastart, came out to join the kite flying festivities with her granddaughter Fiona Miller Russell. Upon awarding the granddaughter 1st place and a kite flying medal for her participation, Barb presented a donation to the Portage Family Skate Park, a 7 night bed and breakfast for two at Upachaya Eco-Lodge and Wellness Resort in Honduras, with a complimentary shuttle to and from the airport, and breakfast every morning.  This is a $916.30 package!  Thank you, Barb, for this amazing gift.

Visit www.upachaya.com to learn more about the beautiful resort in Honduras, owned and managed by some of the best from Portage, WI.

Stay tuned!  We will be announcing how you can win this vacation package to benefit the Portage Family Skate Park Project.
